Event in brief: 9am Welcome Passive House: a global standard, Tomas O’Leary, Passive House Academy (PHA) Founder and Director. Tomas will describe the latest developments at the Passive House Institute (PHI), and PH activities generally in Europe - including the Frontrunner Region of Brussels, where they've gone from no Passive Houses to over 1mill square feet in just a few amazing years - as well as activity in Asia and the Americas, and how New York fits into this worldwide effort. The Passive House Academy is accredited by PHI. Certified Passive House: Architect Bill Ryall and Passive House consultant David White will present their completed project Orient Point, a new building on Long Island recently certified by PHI. Short Break Project roundtable: Architects Andreas Benzing, Julie Torres Moskovitz, Jeremy Shannon and Chris Benedict will each explore diferent aspects of working toward the Passive House standard in a variety of projects. American Passive House Network launched
The three founding regional Passive House organizations, Passive House California, New York Passive House and Passive House Northwest, are pleased to announce our official launch and look forward to welcoming others in the near future. Our goal is to create a forum for Passive House communities to share resources, events and information. We are a consensus driven group that is run directly by the member organizations.
